convert 128 power supply for my 64
higher amp supply
never been cartridge kid of guy when it came to my 64. I always had disk started out with 1541. Have tape drives now but don,t use much. Started getting some cartridges a few months ago now have over 10. After a hour or 2 when resertting 64 want come back up and has dim light on 64. Let it cool off for a hour it all works again, or pull cartridgr out unit works. My comet 64 was never that much load and never over heated the power supply. But the cartridges do my mach 5 cartridge was the first one it happen on. It would work with my comet so I let it stay in all the time. Looked online for hd supply all over net nobody selling one. Would of just got 1 or 2 hd if they made them now get 2 128 power supplys and change the ends seems to have 3 times the amps for add on.

It could be that the 7805 IC or the 5 volt supply line capacitor needs replacing. If it's your power supply, I would recommend finding a new one quickly as a faulty power supply is the reason for most of the C64's going bad in the past. Good luck!
