Comet Chat 1.5

This release is mostly about new fonts and game launching.

New Features

Fonts

Choose from a library of fonts to display your chat text.  The library is on a shared disk - fonts are dynamically loaded from a disk whose contents will grow over time, as new fonts are added.

Games

Launch other CommodoreServer multi-player games from within chat. This is a handy feature because it allows you to stay engaged with friends while planning to play games together.  When you're ready, just launch the game without logging out, changing disks, etc. Easy! Also handy for the Portland Commodore Users Group Online Meetings.

Auto Update

Comet Chat now recognizes if a newer version is available and can optionally download the new version and restart itself with the updated version.

Single-spacing

Now see more chat history. Single-spacing between lines makes the text stick around longer so you can grab a coffee and see what you missed when you return.

Option to turn on/off sound

Don't like the ding sounds? You can turn them off for a quieter chat session.

CSIP Commands with /

Now you can type most any CSIP command directly from chat.  Just start the command with a slash and you will see the server response after entering it.  You can still go into server mode with > if you need to do a lot of CSIP at once.

Uses V-1541 v2.4

This isn't really obvious, but it uses some of the newer, advanced features of V-1541 v2.4.  You might have noticed this when selecting a room to join or picking a font.

So be sure to upgrade your V-1541 files before using, as 2.4 is now required.

I hope you enjoy the updates.
